Our eyes are attracted to light.
As people's eyes move from dark to light their bodies typically
follow. Light is an important factor in display merchandising and
store planning.

New
ideas are not accidental.
The history of
our industry, like most others, is a history of inventions and
innovation - even if it doesn't seem so day to day, year to year.
The equipment leaders
of the future will be those who reinvent their products, incorporate
new technologies and make the investment in inventing and innovating
the processes that support our foodservice operators. This newsletter
will share information, identify opportunities and will stimulate
new design and development in foodservice equipment.
Ideas Well Done
LLC is a source for turnkey concept-to-marketplace product development.
The IWD Newsletter will inform you of our products and
services, so it is a bit self serving - we hope not too much so.
Enjoy.

Follow the Money
Following the money can provide good insight into product
development priorities. According to a recent United Nations
report, renewable energy has become a focus of investors worldwide. Investors
spent $71 billion in new capital during 2006, an increase of 43%
over 2005. At IWD we are experimenting with new applications of electrical
energy, new energy sources, energy conservation methods and designs; we
are watching the trends in heating and cooling components and
controls to bring state of the art development and design to new
products for foodservice manufacturers.

All Wet?
To feed one
person in the United States for a year, it requires the use of approximately 1,726,000 gallons
of water. Americans pay less for drinking water than residents of
other developed countries about $2.49 per 1,000 gallons. On the other
end of the scale, Denmark and Germany pay approximately $8.50 per 1,000 gallons. We
Americans also lead the world in consumption, as much as 158 gallons
per day per person. For a full report on costs, visit NUS Consulting Group (www.nusinc.com).
At Ideas Well
Done LLC we have a couple of water projects under development and are
planning on more. In the coming months we will publish more research on
the increasing importance of water. We predict that water conservation
and on-site water reclamation and treatment will increasingly become a
factor in the design and selection of equipment for foodservice and the
design of foodservice facilities.
